Mäpps Coffee

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Local shop. Uses their own beans.

You’ll find Mäpps Coffee located inside Midtown Global Market in downtown Minneapolis. The market itself is like a multi-cultural mall, with food courts and shops, from an American diner to African fare, etc.

Mäpps has an extensive menu. I wasn’t sure what to order so I asked the barista what she suggested. She gave me some ideas, explaining that they made almost all of their ingredients for their drinks. Their chai is made from scratch, the blended drinks have real espresso, the whipped cream is made in house, etc.

I ended up with a Coffee Frappe, which she explained was made with cold espresso and vanilla bean powder. It also had pieces of espresso beans blended up in it. It was a fluffy texture with a light, creamy coffee flavor, similar to Starbucks Caffé Vanilla Frappuccino.

I also ordered a piece of their Lemon Crunch Cake. Which wasn’t quite as good as Starbucks Lemon Pound Cake, but it was still pretty yummy.
